創薬科学科 4回生のための専門英語科目A specialized English course for fourth-year students
英語のCV、30秒の自己アピール、そして自分の研究や関心を伝える動画。大学で英語を学んできた締めくくりに、もう一度「自分が何者か」に立ち戻り、プロフェッショナルとして英語で語れる力を身につける、少人数・実践型の授業です。 An English CV, a 30-second pitch, and a short video about your research or interests. As the final step of your English studies at university, you return to the question “who am I?” and learn to answer it, professionally, in English. A small, hands-on course.

これから出会うグローバルな場面を想定し、セルフプロモーションの力を磨きます。Seminar presentations, interviews in English, job hunting and study abroad. With these global situations in mind, you sharpen your ability to promote yourself.
創薬科学科で英語を学んできた4年間の締めくくり。英語のCV、30秒の自己アピール、そして自分を伝える動画という3つの成果物を通して、専門分野のプロフェッショナルに向けて自分の経歴・関心・強みを語る力を身につけます。The culmination of four years of English at the department. Through three products, an English CV, a 30-second pitch and a video that tells your story, you learn to present your background, interests and strengths to professionals in your field.
翻訳ツールや生成AIに丸投げするのではなく、下ごしらえと仕上げを自分で行い、産出した英文を「自分のもの」にします。履修後も自分で力を伸ばし続けられることを目指します。Rather than leaving everything to translation tools or generative AI, you do the preparation and the finishing yourself, so the English you produce becomes your own. The aim is to keep improving on your own after the course.
海外の研究機関や製薬企業で働いた経験を持つ薬学部の教員のミニ・セミナーで、英語の発表を聞き、質疑応答に加わり、海外での研究・仕事や英語の身につけ方を本人の経験から聞きます。海外の学生との交流の機会もあります。In mini-seminars with faculty from the college who have worked at research institutions and pharmaceutical companies abroad, you listen to talks in English, join the Q&A, and hear first-hand about research and work overseas and how they acquired their English. There are also opportunities to interact with students abroad.
少人数だからこそ、一人ひとりの作品にていねいなフィードバックが届き、気軽に質問や相談ができます。Because the class is small, every piece of work gets careful feedback, and it is easy to ask questions and talk things over.

授業の流れCourse Flow
秋セメスター・週1回。対面とオンラインを組み合わせて行います（年度により順番や内容は変わります）。Fall semester, once a week, combining in-person and online sessions (the order and content vary from year to year).
この授業で何をするか、なぜ自分はここにいるのか。専門領域を持つ人にとってのグローバル・コミュニケーションとセルフプロモーションを考え、コース全体の見取り図をつかみます。生成AIの活用方針も共有します。What the course covers, and why you are here. You think about what global communication and self-promotion mean for someone with a specialty, get the big picture of the course, and share the policy on using generative AI.
CVとレジュメの違い、何をどの順番で書くか、力強い動詞の選び方を学び、就職活動や留学で求められる英語のCV・履歴書とオンラインプロフィールを実際に作ります。あわせて、インタビューや質疑応答、ネットワーキング、ソーシャル・メディアでの発信を練習します。海外の学生や大学院生との交流の回もあります。前半のまとめと振り返りをして、後半へ。You learn the difference between a CV and a résumé, what to include and in what order, and how to choose strong verbs, then actually write the English CV and online profile that job hunting and study abroad will ask of you. You also practice interviews, Q&A, networking and communicating on social media. Some sessions include exchanges with students abroad and graduate students. The first half closes with a review and reflection.
英語で論文を書くとき、英語で発表するときに、自分で活用できるツールを知ります。生成AI、英文の校閲・作成を支援するツール、音声の作成や発音の確認に使えるツール。履修後も自分で力を伸ばし続けるための回です。You get to know the tools you can use yourself when writing papers or presenting in English: generative AI, tools that support proofreading and writing, and tools for producing audio and checking pronunciation. A session for continuing to improve after the course ends.
グローバルなオーディエンスに向けて、自分の研究や関心を独自の視点で伝える数分の動画を企画します。短い練習動画から始め、他の大学や研究者の動画を分析し、絵コンテを描き、映像の技法を学んで撮影へ。素材は借り物ではなく、自分で撮ったものを使います。分野外の人にも意義が伝わることを重視します。研究紹介が難しい場合は、別のテーマでも可能です。You plan a few-minute video that conveys your research or interests to a global audience from your own point of view. Starting with a short practice video, you analyze videos by other universities and researchers, draw a storyboard, learn video techniques, and shoot, using footage you captured yourself. The emphasis is on making the significance clear to people outside your field. If presenting your research is difficult, another topic is also possible.
完成した動画を見せ合い、互いに学びます。あわせて、海外での研究や仕事の経験を持つ薬学部の教員による英語の発表を聞き、質疑応答に加わります。アカデミック・プレゼンテーションとビジネス・プレゼンテーションのそれぞれについて、発表の組み立て方や議論の進め方のアドバイスを受けるほか、海外でのポスドク生活、海外企業での仕事、大規模な国際学会、英語の身につけ方についても、本人の経験から聞きます。後半のまとめと振り返りをして、コースを締めくくります。You share your finished videos and learn from each other. You also listen to talks in English by faculty from the college who have done research and worked abroad, and join the Q&A. They offer advice on structuring a presentation and leading a discussion, for both academic and business presentations, and speak from their own experience about postdoc life overseas, working at a company abroad, large international conferences, and how they acquired their English. The course closes with a review and reflection on the second half.
